This year, the Pilsen Region is celebrating a quarter of a century since its establishment. The important anniversary was marked by a series of five festive events. The festivities started on Monday, June 9, at the Secondary School of Agriculture and Food in Klatovy. The program continued the next day at the Chodsko Museum in Domažlice, on June 11 at the Secondary School in Rokycany, on June 12 in Planá at the Secondary Vocational School and Elementary School Planá, and culminated on June 13 in Plzeň at the Pilsen Regional Authority, where it coincided with an Open House Day.
Each city offered visitors a rich cultural and culinary program, featuring participation from regional schools, public institutions, artists, and well-known personalities.

“Over the past 25 years, the Pilsen Region has transformed into a modern and dynamic area, while preserving its rich history and traditions. The aim of the celebrations is not only to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the region’s founding, but also to thank everyone who has contributed to its development – from students of regional schools to professionals in various fields,” said the Governor of the Pilsen Region, Kamal Farhan.

Each event included:
• Performances by students from local elementary art schools
• Live interviews with Pilsen Region Governor Kamal Farhan
• A culinary show featuring renowned chefs and the Regional Food brand
• Presentations by organizations established by the region
• Displays of selected equipment from the Integrated Rescue System and regional transport
• A concert by a well-known performer to close out the day

Guests at the various events included Václav "Noid" Bárta, Olga Lounová, Pokáč, and Eva Burešová. Famous chefs such as Ondřej Slanina, Tomáš Popp, Pavel Švestka, and Tereza Olbrichtová were also present. “All events are free and open to the general public. Come and celebrate 25 years of the Pilsen Region with us,” invited Governor Kamal Farhan, adding that from June 13 to 15, 2025, free admission would be offered at all museums and galleries in the Pilsen Region, including the observatories in Rokycany and Plzeň, where night sky observations would be available.

To mark the occasion, the Pilsen Region also launched a tourism competition with attractive prizes.
