Franz Löffler, President of the Upper Palatinate Provincial Assembly and Regional Councillor of the Cham District, visited the Pilsen Region on 13 October. He was received by the President of the Pilsen Region Ilona Mauritzová and the Councillor for Tourism, Partner Regions, External Relations and Business Support Marcela Krejsová.
The friendly meeting was aimed at confirming and further expanding the cooperation between the two regions, which has resulted in a number of projects in the fields of tourism, education, ecology and landscaping, science and research, etc., in the past years.
The topics of the meeting were in particular transport services in both regions, cooperation of the emergency services and innovative projects.
“It is in our interest to have a strong cross-border partner, which your region undoubtedly is," said Franz Löffler.
”I am glad that our cooperation is yielding results and that the Upper Palatinate and the Pilsen Region are thriving. We are aware of the need to continue to organise joint exercises of the emergency services. We have agreed that both sides will intensively promote the completion and modernisation of the double-track train line connecting Pilsen and Munich," summarised President Ilona Mauritzová.
