On Monday, 19 July 2021, a meeting of the representatives of the Pilsen Region and Lower Bavaria took place in Freyung, Lower Bavaria. Marcela Krejsová, Regional Council Member for Tourism, Partner Regions, External Relations and Business Support, attended the meeting on behalf of the Pilsen Region, accompanied by Jan Přibáň, Head of the EU Funds and Programmes Department. Lower Bavaria was represented by Dr. Olaf Heinrich, President of the Regional State Assembly of Lower Bavaria and Mayor of Freyung, and Kaspar Sammer, Director of Euregio Bayerischer Wald–Böhmerwald–Unterer Inn.
The main topic of the friendly meeting was the area of cross-border cooperation and its restart after the end of the restrictions associated with the measures to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. During the meeting, cooperation between universities and cooperation in the field of culture and tourism were discussed in more detail.
The representatives of both regions agreed that the Czech-Bavarian area should continue to be promoted as a common territory offering visitors a wide range of local attractions and activities. „To promote this we will want to use regional gastronomy or quality local products,“ added Marcela Krejsová.
