A delegation of the representatives of Can Tho City, Vietnam, a partner region of the Pilsen Region, led by the representatives of the Embassy of Vietnam, visited the Pilsen Region in order to meet with its representatives and discuss the possibilities of cooperation in areas other than the previous ones, and generally intensify cooperation between the regions that was concluded in 2015. The all-day program started with a visit to the seat of the Regional Authority, where the meeting was attended by Deputy President of the Region Ivo Grüner and Chairman of the Committee for Education, Training and Employment Jaroslav Šobr. The opening presentation of the partner region of Can Tho, the main export commodity of which is rice and seafood, was followed by debate that revolved around other areas of interregional cooperation. The representatives of the Vietnamese region were interested in the development of tourism, business and exchange stays of students and teachers of universities in both regions. At present, approximately 300 Vietnamese students are studying at universities in the Czech Republic.

After the visit to the Regional Authority, the members of the partner region took a tour of the historical part of Pilsen and paid a visit to the organic farm in Milínov and to Pilsner Urquell Brewery.
