On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the signature of the Declaration of Friendship, concluded between the Pilsen Region and the Zhejiang Province in 2007, and on the personal invitation of the Governor of the Province, a delegation from the Pilsen Region headed by Vice President Ivo Grüner visited the Zhejiang Province from 11-18 November 2017.
The first part of the work program was held in Shanghai. The members of the delegation visited the Faculty of Design at East China Normal University where they discussed possible cooperation with the Faculty of Arts and Design of the University of West Bohemia. They also visited the commercial business zone Hongqiao Business District.
The second part of the visit of the Pilsen Region delegation was held in the partner Zhejiang Province. The members of the delegation were officially accepted by the Vice-governor of the Province at the seat of the provincial government. The delegation furthermore discussed deepening relationships between both regions, and they also negotiated with the Director of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Province and the Mayor of the City of Hanzha, the capital of the Province.
During the stay in the Province, the delegation met representatives of tourism, and of the Transport and Environmental Departments. One of the aims of the visit was to promote cooperation at university level, thus the delegation also visited two universities - the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts, a college of arts, and also the Hangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
One whole day in the program was dedicated to visiting Jianhua, where the delegation was received by City officials headed by the Mayor. Afterwards, the delegation went on an excursion to a car factory and toured the preserved historic districts.
