More than a hundred cars and motorcycles pulled out of the area of the Křimice Castle on 30 Septmeber 2014 to check the new western bypass of Pilsen that will be officially put into operation on 9 September. The Castle Foxinterier Rally was started by Václav Šlajs, President of the Region, and his Deputy Václav Šimánek; they together drove one of the historical vehicles along the western bypass.

The historic vehicles ride “Castle Foxinterier Rally” was organized by the district of Křimice in cooperation with the Classic Car Club and the Pilsen Regioin as part of the Castle Festival. President of the Region Václav Šlajs, who took patronage over the event, opened the event and wished the riders good luck and a safe journey.
Before starting the rally, all participants, most of them wearing period clothes, pulled in the area of the castle with their polished “beloved vehicles”. The 50-kilometre route for both cars and motorcycles started on the western bypass of Pilsen and the ride was kind of a pre-premiere before opening for everyday operation on 9 September 2014.
The Bobelin band played for the visitors in the afternoon and at 4 p.m. Mayor of the Křimice District Petr Otásek and President of the Region Václav Šlajs announced the winners of the spectator voting for the best car and the best motorcycle. Václav Rýdl won the best motorcycle award for his Jawa Rikša, Bohumil Kuba won the best car award for his Jaguar E, and presents were also prepared for the oldest vehicles which was Ivo Šalinger’s motorcycle ITAR 1924 and Luboš Vaníček’s automobile Chandler.
“I am very happy that we managed to organize the race as part of the Castle Festival, and I believe that even more people will take part next year,” said Petr Otásek after announcing the winners, and President of the Region Václav Šlajs promised: ”The Pilsen Region will participate in organizing again next year and we will be happy if the event extends.”
