One hundred and thirty years have passed since the birth of the famous puppeteer Josef Skupa (16 January 1892). The round anniversary of the founder of the Spejbl and Hurvínek Theatre was commemorated by the President of the Pilsen Region Ilona Mauritzová. “Josef Skupa, who with his puppets gave joy not only to children but also to adults, is an immortal part of Pilsen. After all, there are several bronze figures of Spejbl and Hurvínek in the city, which still give joy, and the ones in the Republic Square in Plzeň are even life-size,” said the President with a smile as she enlivened with flowers the bench with the legendary figures in memory of Skupa’s birth.
