The Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Czech Republic, H. E. Anna Azari, met with the Governor Rudolf Špoták as part of her tour of the Pilsen Region. The main topics of the debate between the representatives of both sides were employment, education in connection with the needs of employers in the region and the situation related to the war in Ukraine. Migration and the integration of foreign workers and migrants into society was also a common topic. At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador received symbolic gifts from the hands of the Governor of the Pilsen Region and also a commemorative entry in the Regional Book of Remembrance was made.
“I appreciate the visit of the Israeli Ambassador, with whom we found many common topics. Both our regions and countries are facing a number of similar problems, be it education or lack of qualified employees. We exchanged a number of tips on the possibilities of cooperation and thus on the future development of the regions. And what pleased me even more was that the Ambassador found time to attend the award ceremony of the Building of the Year of the Pilsen Region and presented the prize for the restoration of the Pilsen Synagogue,” said Rudolf Špoták.
After the meeting at the Regional office in Pilsen, the Governor Rudolf Špoták and the Ambassador of the State of Israel attended the award gala of the Building of the Year of the Pilsen Region, where H.E. Anna Azari presented one of the prizes – the award-winning renovation of the Great Synagogue and Rabbi’s House in Pilsen directly to the Rabbi of the synagogue.
