Despite the unfavourable epidemiological situation in the Czech Republic, Rememberance Day commemorating the 102nd anniversary of the end of the First World War, when armistice between the Allies and Germany was signed in a train car in Le Francport near the city of Compiègne in northern France on 11 November 1918, did not remain neglected on Wednesday 11 November 2020.
The traditional commemorative act was also held this year under strict epidemiological measures under the baton of the Czechoslovak Legionary Community and the Regional Military Headquarters in Pilsen. Together with representatives of the Association of War Veterans, Plzeň 2 City District Office, and the Czech Union of Freedom Fighters, the Pilsen Region quietly commemorated this important day by laying flowers next to the Monument to the Victims of the Wars for Freedom and Democracy in the Homolka Park in Pilsen. At 11:11, the Piper plane of Líně Aeroclub flew over the place.
