Pilsen Region President meets Bamberg Chief Public Prosecutor

Pilsen Region President Milan Chovanec and Pilsen Region Vice President Ivo Grüner welcomed the chief public prosecutor of Bamberg, Thomas Janovsky, at the Pilsen Regional Authority Office on Tuesday, 1 October 2013. The regional president was joined by regional public prosecutor Anna Maříková and assistant public prosecutor Dagmar Lindenthalová from the Regional Public Prosecutor’s Office in Pilsen. The meeting focused on cooperation in security and crime prevention in the Czech-German border region.

“I’m pleased that relations between our regions are continuing to develop and grow stronger. Excellent cooperation between the Czech and Bavarian police is contributing to safety on both sides of the border. I’m confident that Pilsen Region’s “Peaceful Border” project, which covers the area from Železná Ruda up to the Karlovy Vary Region border, will help in the fight against crime. But despite all these efforts, the fight against crime is unfortunately a fight that will never end,” Pilsen Region President Chovanec pointed out during today’s meeting.

All of the participants agreed how serious and complicated problems were regarding drugs and open-air markets along the border.
