CONNECT2CE = IMPROVED RAILWAY CONNECTION AND SMART MOBILITY IN CENTRAL EUROPE

CONNECT2CE focuses on the solution to poorly accessible regional, peripheral and cross-border areas of Central Europe to and from major transport networks and hubs. Poor accessibility of these regions is due to the long-term phenomenon of urbanization.

The CONNECT2CE project solves the problem by developing harmonized and coordinated transnational strategies, action plans and tools that should be integrated and implemented at regional and cross-border level through pilot actions in three interconnected areas, all of which will fundamentally improve public transport services of peripheral / cross-border regions:

  • Connectivity (transport contracts, public service obligations, harmonization of multimodal timetables, regional and cross-border rail services)

•  Integrated ticketing and tariff systems (integration of regional and cross-border multimodal tickets will be tested and implemented for the first time)

• Implementing the most efficient and innovative ICT tools in the area of information mobility

These outputs will be developed at transnational level as common solutions to common problems. This approach will be applied throughout the duration of the project, by the active participation of all project partners in all work packages, building on developed territorial strategies and action plans at local, regional and cross-border levels, combining transport and territorial development.

The Pilsen Region is a partner of the CONNECT2CE project.
